Privacy

Privacy, explained plainly.

Discretion matters here. So does honesty about what privacy can and cannot mean in licensed care.

StoneCurrent handles personal information carefully. Private pay and measured communication help keep things discreet, but they do not erase clinical records or the legal limits of confidentiality.

What “discreet” means here

It means tone, pacing, and how we communicate. It is not a promise that records do not exist, that nothing can ever be disclosed, or that confidentiality has no exceptions under law and professional ethics.

HIPAA and secure channels

Protected health information (PHI) must travel through HIPAA-aligned systems under Business Associate Agreements — not ordinary website widgets, consumer email, or social DMs. The site’s Secure chat launcher only connects a live encrypted vendor after a signed BAA is configured.

Notice of Privacy Practices

Before launch, publish the clinician’s HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices (PDF) and link it here. Until then, ask the practice for the current NPP.

Website forms

Intake, booking, and inquiry forms are for fit and scheduling. Do not submit detailed clinical information through those forms or through plain email.
